Walk to Clodgy

After a morning in the studio, I decided to set off for Clodgy - I'm ashamed I've not been for months.  Along the cliff top path there were clumps and clumps of pretty wild violets - the first I've seen this year (I always note the date of the 'first violets' which is important to me).

What a beautiful sunny day today, but my goodness it was windy.  Having staggered to the top of Clodgy, I sat in the shelter of a lovely big rock and sat eating a Mars bar and sketching in my book.  The view up the coast from here is to die for.

A close up of the rock I was sat next too.  I just love the colours and the textures and it would make a wonderful painting... sometimes I wonder why we bother, nature says it all!
