EROSION BUNDLE PROJECT

The last day of the year and time to start planning my first art project for 2015.  I was introduced to this a couple of years ago by my good friend Carolyn Saxby - the idea is to put together a collection of papers, fabrics, rusty bits and miscellaneous items - wrap them all up in a piece of cloth and then either hang it in a tree in your garden, or bury in the soil!

On 1 April you then retrieve your bundle, open it up and see what exciting natural processes have happened inside.  Hopefully your collection of bits and pieces will be delightfully altered and crying out to be used to create a unique and fascinating piece of art - or maybe form the basis of a special art book.

Should your treasure be infested with little creepy crawlies and visitors from the garden, place the whole bundle in a plastic bag and pop into the freezer to kill off any unwanted visitors....

The hard part is waiting for 1 April to find out what has happened!

This is my bundle I put together last night: silks, chamois leather, canvas, lots of different papers, vintage photographs, silk threads, music, bottle top, rusty bits, teabags, wire.

It's so exciting wondering how these things are going to be changed by being out in the elements for three months.

Here's my bundle wrapped in a silk scarf and tied with string - all ready to go out in the garden tomorrow.

WHY NOT JOIN IN AND DO YOUR OWN BUNDLE?
I WOULD LOVE TO HEAR HOW YOU ALL GET ON WITH THIS WONDERFUL PROJECT...
