ABOUT
Sally MacCabe is a mixed media artist and maker working with a variety of materials producing paintings, artists’ books, sculptures, art dolls and collaged hangings.
She is known for working with a palette of soft greys and natural colours which make her work instantly recognisable. Many of her paintings are an intuitive exploration of texture and applied ephemera, often using found papers and texts - whereas other collections of work are worked on a specific theme. Some of her recent pieces involve hand stitch and fragments of textiles, combined with paint, which create an interesting fusion of techniques. The making and use of sketchbooks is an integral part of her working process.
Sally’s artworks are held in private collections across the world and she is a member of the St Ives Society of Artists, St Ives Arts Club and an associate member of the Penwith Gallery.
Sally teaches a range of mixed media workshops from the garden studio of her cottage in St Ives, full details of which can be found on her website (www.sallymaccabe.co.uk)
